Needles has a population of about 5,000 and is in the Mohave Valley, which runs down from Arizona. After tough economic times Needles seems to have turned it around, posting budget surplusses since then, attracting new businesses, and demolishing existing eyesore structures. They take pride in their parks and recreation, and they feature the Needles Recreation Area, which provides organized youth sports and a fun, safe place for kids to hang out.
The Colorado River, with its splendid fishing, boating, water skiing, and other attractions is just over 4 miles away. The River's Edge golf course is just over 6 miles away. The Spirit Mountain Casino is only 6 1/2 miles away. The Havasu National Wildlife Refuge is only 9 miles away. Historic Route 66 runs through Needles. Lake Havasu is 32 miles southeast of the property.
