Land Description

Waterfowl: 60+/- acres of natural Cypress slew with levy, 6 man duck blind facing North, water control structures, new gravel access to slew and natural year around water supply. 15 to 20 acre corn field on the western border of the slew could be levied and flooded. Property is on the lower end of Mayfield Creek just off the Mississippi River. Mayfield Creek is known for its waterfowl hunting for several reasons. The main reason is of course its location, situated 10 miles South of Ballard County Refuge and the Bend in the Ohio River at Paducah, West of Ky and Barkley Lakes, Northeast of Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge, and North of the Obion River Bottoms. This puts it right in the middle of the flyaway and ducks trading back and forth between refuges. Another reason is the fact that a large portion of Mayfield Creek is a natural wetlands and that will always be attractive to ducks.

Deer/Turkey: Mayfield Creek bottoms also hosts an abundance of deer and turkey and this farm is no exception. Several good locations for small, isolated food plots. The farm can be entered in several different locations for wind direction. Good thickets, bottom softwoods and hardwoods with scattered acorn trees, bordering crop fields and 1170 acres to roam all add up to everything you need to grow trophy whitetails and long bearded turkeys.
