Barbour County, Alabama

Land Description
Welcome to one of the south’s finest quail and deer plantations. Bishop Hill has been intensely managed for the last 3 years with an aggressive year-round quail feeding program. Mature pines flourish over the gently rolling landscape among scatterings of Egyptian wheat, lespedeza, and milo. Every individual pine tree has been hand-pruned to 18 feet for maximum aesthetic and monetary value. There are several coveys of wild birds supplemented by a release program.
Two, brand new pine, cedar, and cypress lodges have been recently constructed sparing no expense. Large wooden beams cut at the owner’s private mill and fine furnishings found both locally and internationally results in an upscale, but rustic and comfortable ambiance. The lodges are 1796 sq. ft. and 2196 sq. ft. respectively and sit among 13 acres of ponds with first class fishing. Another 11 acre pond was built along the northwestern edge of the property.
There is a beautifully constructed horse barn with surrounding paddock fenced for those who enjoy riding or hunting by horseback. Other amenities include a sporting clays pavilion, underground utilities, a boat house, numerous green fields for deer, over 200 acres of mature hardwood drains, a duck pond, bountiful turkey, and 4.5 miles of decorative wooden fence surrounding the majority of the plantation.
Also included is an equipment shed with of new tractors and equipment (ask for a list). Please call for a private showing to view this truly sublime plantation.
