Natural Treasure in McDowell County
Marion, NC 28752
McDowell County, North Carolina

Land Description
The Coxes Creek Tract is a natural treasure in McDowell County, North Carolina. Native hardwoods with secluded pockets of massive white oak grace the nearly 853 diverse acres. The property is bound to the northeast US Forest Service land. At nearly 2,600 feet of elevation, the ridgeline offers stunning views to the south, east, and west.
Over 18 miles of roads and trails wind through diverse forestland, there are endless opportunities for trail sports including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or off-road vehicles.
The forest stands range from mature to early successional providing wildlife habitat. The forest has been managed with the goal of sustainability, with limited harvests aimed at improving overall health. Most of the property is stocked with poplar, white, red, and chestnut oak. Continued prudent forest management can provide periodic income through harvests and diversify habitat for wildlife, or the forest can be left to recycle naturally while storing carbon and water. Deer, turkey, and bear are abundant.
