Region & Climate

Burleson, Texas is a suburb of Fort Worth and is located in both Johnson and Tarrant counties. This community is quite small and only occupies 26.1 square miles of beautiful rolling hills, parks and lakes. It is one of the fastest growing communities in the Fort Worth Metroplex and is a very desirable place for families to call home after one visit.

History

Burleson was created as a midway depot when the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad was extended from Denison to Waco. It was named after Rufus Columbus Burleson, the president of Baylor University by Reverend Renfro who purchased the land. The first lot in Burleson sold in 1881 and is now the founding day of the community.
