The Navajo Dam is on the San Juan River which is a tributary of the Colorado River. It is a 402ft earthen dam built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in the 1960S to provide flood control, irrigation, domestic and industrial water supply and storage for droughts. The dam is a major feature of the Colorado River Storage Project which regulates water resources across the entire Upper Colorado River Basin.

Location The property is located one mile south of the Colorado border in New Mexico. It is approximately an hour from both Pagosa Springs and Durango, CO. The closest commercial airport is in Durango, with a private air strip available in Pagosa Springs.

Navajo Lake is the second largest in the state and offers multiple campgrounds, marinas, and boat ramps. The San Juan River is a world-class fly fishing destination.

Directions to Land

Navigate to Tiffany, CO, which is along HWY 151. After turning off of HWY 151, continue south on Co Rd 328, which turns into Rd 4010 after a sharp right turn after several miles. There will be a sharp left turn approximately 1/2 mile after the sharp right, and approximately 1/2 mile after that there is a fork. Follow Rd 4008 to the right. Follow 4008 for a little over a mile. The road will split -- continue straight onto Rd 4004. Follow Rd 4004 for approximately 3 miles until it dead ends into the main North/South road, Rd 4000. Property entrance at the dead end with Rd 4000, marked by blue flags. Follow the property entrance road down the hill to find the pumps and the river access road.
