Briarpatch is a member-only recreational development limited to 15 member-owners on approx. 1400 acres with a +/- 87-acre lake and a +/- 34-acre lake. You purchase a minimum 5-acre lot on the big lake and own in common all the rest of the property with the other member-owners. The development was conceived in 1998 and was designed to be a family-oriented fishing and hunting preserve. The property includes two fully furnished guest houses available to the members on a "first come-first serve" basis. There are two community boathouses and four fully rigged fishing boats. A full-time caretaker lives on the property and maintains everything. All equipment necessary for maintaining the land is located on the property and stored in a large barn facility. You can build your own house and/or boathouse on your lot although there is no requirement to do so. To date, 6 member private houses have been built and numerous boathouses. The fishing is outstanding on both lakes with the lakes stocked; plenty of structure in the lakes; and a program for fertilizing/liming the lakes each year. There are numerous hunting zones and over 20 food plots; shooting houses and ladder stands; a continental pheasant tower; and a planted dove field.

Lot 16 is available which is a prime lot on a point looking down the main body of the lake. The lot is 5.15 acres and has an incredible 747 feet of shoreline. Also, included is a one slip boathouse with an electric lift; a screened-in porch; a storage closet; and a sink/counter for fish cleaning. The access is good and the lot is near the large community boathouse. The price has been reduced from $340,000 to $329,000.

From Birmingham, take Hwy 280 to Sylacauga, just past Sylacauga exit onto Hwy 231 to Rockford, past Rockford exit left on County Road 10, and go approx. 1.2 miles and the gated entrance is on your right. Briarpatch is approx. 1 1/2 hours from Birmingham; approx. 35 minutes from Montgomery; approx. 20 minutes from Wetumpka; and, approx. 20 minutes from Lake Martin.
