Lincoln County, Montana

Land Description
The Grizzly Den is an outdoor lovers paradise nestled in the Yaak Valley on 6.1 deeded acres, end of road location, boarding over 2 million acres of the Kootenai National Forest in Northwest Montana. The Yaak Valley is one of the wildest ecosystems in existence in the Continental United States with less than 2% of the land in private ownership.
We carefully selected the location for it's remoteness and access to vast amounts of National Forest Land, Wildlife, and Water. Out the back door of this cabin is a massive ecosystem which if you head south will take you 42 Miles before hitting the town of Libby which has all the amenities one would need.
The town of Yaak which consists of a small general store, The Yaak Tavern and Mercantile, and The Dirty Shame Saloon is a short 7 mile drive to the north where you can enjoy casual dining while over looking theYaak River. You can also get general items and gasoline at the Yaak Mercantile. The Kootenai National Forest has Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose, Wild Turkeys, Grouse, Black and Grizzly Bears, Mountain Lions, and the list goes on. It is one of the best hunting, fishing, and wildlife ecosystems in North America. There are few places left in the U.S with this diversity and amount of water resources.
There are more lakes and miles of streams loaded with Trout than one person could fish in several lifetimes. The Kootenai River is a Blue Ribbon Fishery with some of the best Fly Fishing in Montana. The Yaak River is a 10 minute drive and boasts excellent Trout populations of Rainbow, Cutthroat, and Brook Trout. Due to it's low fishing pressure, fish eagerly eat dry flies. Lake Koocanusa is exactly 1 hr from the cabin and is a massive, beautiful reservoir spanning all the way into Canada with a healthy Salmon population, and white sand beaches that line the lake for miles. In 2.5 hours you can be in Fernie, British Columbia Fishing the Elk River, one of the top dry fly rivers in the world. An easy 1.5 hours puts you in Bonners Ferry, 45 mins to Libby Montana, and 2.5 hours to Kalispell Montana where there is an International Airport. In the winter, Turner Mountain a coveted spot for Skiing Enthusiast due to it's uncrowded slopes, and incredible powder, is 20 minutes south. This area has been somewhat of secret valley even to some in Montana, however it did receive some fame when it was featured on the hit TV show Mountain Men on A&E.
