Our photographer stated, “Driving to the property: Highway driving on I-40 west was uneventful. I took the I-40 business loop exit, turned left on Fort Rock Rd. After waiting for two trains, I drove further on Fort Rock Rd, then turned right on Via De Oro Parkway. I then turned right on Corona Cir, left on Portrero, then right on “El Porto” Lane, which was actually written as “El Portal” Lane on the sign. The road conditions went from paved to dirt with rock. There are some parts that may be tricky for a 2wd car to traverse, especially after monsoon rains. Overall, on most good days if the weather were good and there is no standing water, a regular car could negotiate the road to this parcel.”

“Traveling to the corners: I followed the GPS coordinates using Google maps, which took me along El Portal for two of the four points. For the most part, walking the property was fairly easy. There was a wash with an abrupt drop-off as well as a steep hill on the east side of the property, but otherwise the land was fairly flat. The west side of the property also has a wash that eventually led me towards El Portal on the west side. The rest of the terrain of the property is fairly flat. There were open patches of fields with juniper, oak and pine trees throughout. The ground had lots of grass and soft dirt, with occasional small to medium sized rocks and a few cacti mixed in. There were no signs of electrical lines or water in close proximity to the property. Cell service was mostly zero and occasionally one bar (Verizon).”

“Overall impression of the property: The parcel is without water or electricity but seems ideal to build an off-grid cabin or year round home. The area is quite peaceful and quiet, and as most of the land is fairly flat, has great potential. Nearby Seligman has some amenities available, including shopping, a general store, and limited dining and auto services. The small town is quaint and has embraced it's Route 66 roots.”
