This beautiful 41 acre property is located on Million Dollar Mountain, right in the heart of big buck country. Million Dollar Mountain is a large limestone hill and as many hunters know, lime is a key mineral in plant/foliage growth. Where there is a healthy food source, there will be healthier deer this along with the minimal hunting pressure on this property and the bordering property makes this 41 acre farm, a deer hunter's paradise.
The topography on this farm is very unique, there are two big drainages that run through the property into a larger valley area creating natural travel corridors for deer and turkey. On the top sides of the drainages, thick cedar groves provide good cover and bedding areas for deer. Once you drop down into the bottom areas, the thick cedars transition into thick hardwood trees consisting of Walnut and Cottonwoods. In addition to the two big drainages, there is a pond near the center of the property which creates a perfect watering hole for wild game during those hot, dry summer months. There is an ATV trail that runs through the property, running past the pond and down to the bottom valley area. Turkeys are most often seen in this big valley area but venture through the entire property.
If you are looking for those big Kansas deer, you will quickly realize that it is a numbers game. Hunters have to thumb through deer after deer to find The buck that they are after. One of the best strategies to finding a big mature buck is to hunt multiple deer herds. Having multiple smaller farms with different deer herds gives a hunter a higher probability of finding that one buck to chase all season long. This property is known for its mature deer couple that with another similar sized farm and you will have twice the opportunity to wrap your tag around a big Kansas whitetail this year.
