Land Description

Stunning Full-Scribed Cedar Log Cabin For Sale. This Cabin is on a 29-Acre Parcel with about 1,200 feet of Sturgeon River Frontage. This property can be found in Waucedah Township, located in Dickinson County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The 90 square mile Township has land, rivers, and lakes that offer year-round outdoor recreational fun. The Sturgeon is a Class I trout stream, and flows through areas that include old growth forests, rapids, and waterfalls and more than 3,700 acres of State Forest. The river forms the northern border of the property being offered for sale, and has bends, and a beautiful sandy bottom. It is a great place for boating, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, swimming, and fishing. The banks along this stretch are stable, and could be developed into sites, great for picnics, campfires, and over-nights. The property is located in the “farm belt” of the County. Farms, quality forest lands, and the relatively mild winters in this area provide for excellent deer habitat. The property has the river, and both high grassy areas, and low cedar lands, providing mixed habitat for wildlife. Deer frequent the property regularly, and it also has other Large and Small game, and Waterfowl. Not far away are State of Michigan Lands and Corporate CFA Lands for additional “walk-in” access during season for hunting, fishing, and trapping. In Winter you can enjoy over 140 miles of scenic groomed and marked trails in Dickinson County, that are maintained by the Tri-County Snowmobile Club. You enter the property from a year-round County maintained road, to an open grassy area dotted with trees along the road side. You drive down a gently sloping driveway to the building site. Your first view of the home is of the large raised, covered, porch that wraps around the entire building. It is eight feet deep on three sides, and twelve feet deep on the fourth side, providing lots of outdoor seating and entertainment room - and protection of the logs from weather elements. An Open-Concept Living-Dining-Kitchen is located on the Main Floor Level. It can be entered from an Entrance Hallway, a Side Door off the Dining Area, or from Double Glass doors off the Living Area. This Great Room features a Corner Fireplace, High Vaulted Ceilings, with a central overhead Cat-Walk between two areas of the Upper Level. There is custom Birds-Eye Maple, Black Cherry, and Black Ash trim throughout. The Dining Area has a corner handcrafted Spiral Stairway system that leads to the Upper and Lower Levels of the home. The well designed Kitchen has custom Hickory Cabinetry. The Upper Level has a Loft Bedroom Suite, a Full Bathroom, Separate Shower, and Whirlpool Tub at one end. At the opposite end is a large room with a picture window overlooking maples trees. Currently used as a Sitting Room, it could also be used as a Second Loft Bedroom. The Lower Level of the home is a Full Walk-Out Basement. It has a large open area with a bar and French Doors that open to the back yard. It also has heated floors, two smaller framed rooms, and a Mechanical Area. It is ready to be finished to taste. The home is serviced by an Lp Gas Forced Air Furnace, public electricity, water supplied by a private 240-Foot deep drilled well, and there is a septic system. A pole barn provides storage for vehicles and equipment. The backyard opens up to an expansive grassy area with a view of a man-made Pond (approximately 45x240 feet in size). An Invisible fencing containment system is already installed in the yard for canine pets. A gravel driveway passes through the center of the tree lined property to bring you to the Sturgeon River shoreline.

Here there are endless possibilities. Water sports, boating and fishing are just a few uses to explore. If you are seeking Log Cabin Living for Year Round or for Seasonal Recreation Use you need to see this property. Contact Us For A Private Tour of This Property Today.
