Land Description
640 acres of pristine Northern New Mexico mesa country with views in almost every direction. Located just 2 miles below the continental divide, the property has a little bit of everything with elevations from 7000 feet to 7340 feet. The mesas are set against the back drop of the Jemez Mountains. To the south Cabezon and Mount Taylor are prominent landmarks. Pinon Juniper ridges comprise half of the property and are intermingled with sage flats and open valleys.
The A frame cabin is in the process of being enlarged is nestled against a tree lined ridge and offers views of the majority of the property from its outdoor decks. When completed it will offer a loft, high vaulted ceiling, and new kitchen. There is a stainless steel storage take that gravity feeds water to the cabin. The cabin is powered by solar and cell service is good.
The 485 foot water well completed in 2003 has an estimated yield of 10 GPM according to records at the NM Office of State Engineer and is piped to the cabin and provides water for animals. There are several dirt ponds on the property to catch overland runoff. The most prominent pond is located in the southeast corner.
The property has traditionally been eligible for 1-2 land owner elk tags per year and Mule Deer tags may be purchased over the counter in Game Unit 7. The property is totally surrounded by BLM land which offers more recreational opportunities.
