Buckeye Farm is a four house breeder hen farm located in Clay County, AL. Contracted with Koch Food's Ashland Complex, this farm was built in 2012. The houses are 40×400 with all of the houses connected with a breezeway egg gathering area. Situated in Clay County, AL near the towns of Lineville and Ashland, this farm is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. There are some great views from the farm and around the area.
This farm has been a top producing farm during it's production life. Ranking in the top tier of production for every flock. Equipment for the farm includes the following:
Shenandoah Double Belted Nest Boxes
Staalkat Egg Conveyors and Packing Machine purchased in 2017
Big Dutchman Male Pan Feeders, Big Dutchman Chain Female Feeders
New Curtains and Tunnel Curtains in 2019
8 Tunnel Fans, 2 Exhaust Fans

The farm has a hen placement of around 9100 hens. Historically this farm has seen an income of $310,000 to $316,000 in the past three years. Having the Staalkat conveyors and egg packer installed this minimizes much of the daily labor. This farm currently operates as a family farm with no outside help. Current annual expenses on the farm are running under 10% of the gross annual income (considering Power, Insurance, Supplies and Repairs). Three years of financials are available to review for qualified prospects.
There are several great places to add a home to the farm. A paved driveway from the paved county road to the poultry house pads keeps the access to the farm a smooth ride. There is a litter barn on the property also for storage. Mortality is disposed of through an incinerator that is fueled by LP Gas.
Located in East Central Alabama, Buckeye Farm is under 10 minutes from Lineville and Ashland; 20 minutes from Oxford, AL and Interstate 20; and just over an hour from Birmingham and Atlanta. There is a county run school system available as well as two private school systems. From the farm there are some of the most breathtaking views of Cheaha Mountain, Alabama's highest elevation, that you can find.
A 2007 Case 450 Skidsteer with bucket, Brushmonster rotary mower, and slat movers are all included with the farm. There will also be a large assortment of spare parts for the farm that will remain with the farm.
