Land Description

Location This unique property is located on the South side of the Winding Stair Mountain Range approximately 3.5 miles from the West entrance to the Talimena Scenic Drive. The South, East and half of the North property lines have frontage to the 1.5 million acre Ouachita National Forest, which provides hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, eastern wild turkey, black bear, wild hog and other small game as well as direct access to an impressive network of Atv, hiking and horseback riding trails that are operated and maintained by the US Forest Service. A Google Map with the perimeter of the property outlined is furnished at the very bottom of this page to show the exact location of the property.

Services to Property This is an off-grid property.

Access Currently there is not an access road to this property. A US Forest service road goes within a 1/2 mile of the East property line. An access permit could possibly be obtained from the Forest Service for construction of an access road for the property. Note When walking to this property, I found evidence of an old logging road to the Southeast property corner.

Property Features Frontage to the Ouachita National Forest along the North, East and South property lines.

Excellent hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, eastern wild turkey, black bear, wild hog and other small game.

This property is located within 0.3 mile from the Ouachita Trail which provides direct access to an impressive network of hiking and mountain biking trails that are operated and maintained by the US Forest Service

Very remote location with rugged terrain. Elevation of the Southwest property corner is about 1290 feet and Northeast property corner is 1650 feet. Reference the MapRight image at the bottom of this listing. There is a 3D option and a filter for a topo map. Several rock bluffs to explore.

Completely covered with a mature stand of timber that is native to South-eastern OK including a diverse variety of oaks, red bud, hickory, sweet gum and several nice stand of native shortleaf yellow pine trees of saw log size.

There are several nice building spots for a small off-grid cabin that would have amazing mountain and valley views. There are enough saw log size pine trees on the property that could be used to construct a small log cabin.
