Founded in 2011, New Nevada Lands, LLC, is one of the largest private landowners in the State of Nevada. New Nevada owns approximately 500,000 acres/202,000 hectares of land along the I-80 highway in Northern Nevada, most of which is located no more than 20 miles (32 km) on either side of the Union Pacific Railroad, which stretches across northern Nevada from the California border to the Utah border. New Nevada’s holdings can be traced back to the railroad land grants of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, that characterize much of the west with a checkerboard pattern of land parcels on each side of the rail lines.
