Brookwood Equestrian Center is a 25 Acre fully functioning equine training facility located in Oconee County, Georgia. The location of the facility is less than 12 minutes from downtown Athens and the new University of Georgia equine medical facility. Brookwood conveniently located on Union Church Road with excellent access to several major thoroughfares and quick access to Watkinsville, Georgia shopping with a Publix and Ace Hardware with 5 miles. The property is also positioned within a one-minute walk from the 70 acres recently purchased by the Oconee County Board of Education for a future school.
Structures on the farm include a double wide three bedrooms, two bath mobile home, a barn apartment and a smaller single wide two bedrooms, one bath trailer (office). The main attraction, however, is the presence of two stables, one with 8 stalls and another with 13 stalls. The stalls are large (12x12 ft.) to accommodate horses of all breeds, and each barn has its own feed, hay and tack rooms.
The stables also include numerous wash and grooming stalls as well as automatic fly spray systems. A large boarders' lounge with restroom, refrigerator, microwave, washer/dryer and kitchen style storage is included in the larger of the two stables. Other amenities insuring the potential of Brookwood Equestrian Center as a viable training facility include a covered riding arena and two 150x250 ft. outdoor arenas with improved footing, dressage arena and jumping course. In addition, there are eleven separate paddocks ranging from one to several acres apiece. Several of these paddocks have loafing sheds for the protection of animals from the elements. Fencing and cross fencing on the farm are constructed of wood and horse friendly mesh fencing.
The 8 stall barn is new construction 99% fire proof barn. This construction was careful planned out with the use of concrete block and all metal trusses. All barns have bathrooms, tact room and the large barn has a kitchen. Other amenities include all 12x12 Stalls one 100x200 open arena and one 100x200 dressage & jumping arena and a lighted covered arena. Including 3 Grooming stalls 2 Wash racks Multiple Paddocks Auto Fly System and office Boarders' lounge.
