The ratio of Bucks to Doe is about 1.5 to 1 with the owners only harvesting the inferior deer leaving only the most dominate of the species. There is a picturesque 6 acre Horseshoe Lake stocked by American Sportfish withTiger Bass, Bream, Shad, and Grass Carp. The lake is managed by American Sportsfish on a quarterly basis. The setting was well planned as the newly constructed lodge hovers above with views in three directions. A nice boathouse is an added bonus.
The turkey population is second to none with large Alabama Gobblers and few natural predators due to the high fence. If turkey hunting is your passion you need look no further.
The timber consists of an ideal ratio of merchantable hardwoods and loblolly pine. Old nut- bearing species of Red and White oaks are abundant as well as Beech, Ash, and some of the largest River Birch you will find. The internal road system is extensive and well maintained with both wide roads with gravel underneath and trails accessible with four wheelers or ATV’s.
The 4.4 miles of high-fence was established in 2008 using eight (8) foot solid lock game fencing. The site boundary was cleared 30 feet on the inside around the entire property with a privacy screen in the front and part of the sides. There are eight (8) green fields, of various size boasting seven (7) solid shooting houses and ten (10) metal stands.
Additionally, there is a nice enclosed barn with two overhead metal doors and a new equipment shed and power and water running to both. A 500 gallon diesel tank is included as well.
A new 2000 sq ft +/- Lodge with central air and heat was completed in late 2011 with quality finished hardwood flooring and carpet. There are two large bedrooms with private baths and an additional half bath off the great room. The great room has vaulted ceilings and stone fireplace which opens up to a kitchen that includes granite countertops, top notch appliances, and a large pantry, and a separate laundry room.
