Located just north of Panther Swamp NWR this property offers 1,587.98 acres of WRP that was implemented in 2005, the remaining acres is unencumbered along 5 Mile Lake. The property was previously a commercial catfish operation that production was halted approximately 8 years prior to the WRP and became a waterfowl hunting area. Tree planting and water control structures have been installed to promote wetlands and upland hunting areas. Improvements include 2 shop buildings with power and water, 10 water wells, 10 water control structures, 362.6 acres of shallow water impoundments, 869.7 acres of natural regeneration and 355.6 acres of hardwood seeding replant. With its proximity to Panther Swamp, Hillside Refuge and Kilbe Brake this area is well known for producing excellent waterfowl and whitetail hunting.
