HLH RANCH – Veteran, Goshen County, Wyoming: The HLH Ranch consists of 3,084± deeded acres, 400± State of Wyoming and 311± BLM lease acres for a total of 3,795± acres. The ranch is located 2-1/2 miles southwest of Veteran, WY. In addition to the approximately 3,586 acres of native grass pasture, the ranch has 209± acres of farmland of which 60 acres are currently planted to alfalfa with the balance of the farm ground being planted in corn, and 300± acres of dry land hay ground. There are 270 shares of water rights provided by the Goshen Irrigation District, at an annual cost of approximately $6,500. Of the 270 shares, 170 shares allotted to the farm ground are irrigated with side-row sprinklers. The remaining 100 shares are adjudicated to the State of Wyoming lease land. One low-pressure center pivot is located south of the ranch house, and irrigates 130± acres: 65 acres of deeded land and 65 acres of the State of Wyoming lease land. There are five wells with submergible pumps located on the ranch. Two of the wells supply water via underground pipelines to several water tanks. The rest of the wells and windmills are also strategically located throughout the ranch to provide water for livestock. The ranch has historically been operated as a traditional cow/calf operation with an owner-rated carrying capacity of approximately 225 cow/calf pairs year-round. The HLH Ranch includes a nice set of improvements that include a 3,618 sq. ft., four bedroom, two bath ranch-style brick home and several outbuildings including barns, corrals, and equipment sheds. There are also two additional sets of working corrals located on the ranch.
